You’re moving into a place with home security devices
A new house may come with a security system. All the devices work, are hung in the correct spaces, and are ready to go. In this example, just turn on the phone to call and set up a new contract. A Vivint professional will still show up to ensure there are no compatibility problems, and they may offer options on an upgrade or two. It's a quick trip, and you can have your alarm monitoring set up without having a bill for any new devices -- unless you add on.
The outgoing homeowners can give an existing Vivint contract to you for a small transfer cost to make your life easier. If the owners downsize to a condo or smaller home, transferring the home security service might be a condition of the sale.
You need to move and take your existing devices with you
You may want to bring your existing Vivint system with you to a new house when you move. Luckily, it's fairly simple to transfer, as many components are plug and play. You can remove each alarm or camera yourself or use a professional expert to come and take down your devices. Then an expert will set up the same features -- and any smart items you want to add -- in your new house. Your home security contract will keep the same.
